Hi pals! Back again for the 42nd edition of our ‘Match of the Week’ illustration series & this week’s entry was quite the unexpected one!

This tremendous match that exceeded all possible expectations took place on February 15th, 2024 at Pro-Wrestling NOAH’s ‘Limit Break.1 ~ Starting Over ~’ event at the forever-home for great Professional Wrestling that is Korakuen Hall.

Often times I find that amazing looking ‘dream-matches’ come along that just don’t quite live up to the lofty expectations. Then there are times like this where you watch a match with no expectations at all that just absolutely blows you away!

I really just happened to watch this on my NOAH catch up because it was between two guys who I personally enjoy very much. So bloody glad I did!

Tanaka (52) - ECW, FMW & Zero-1 total all-round legend. Yone (48) - Battlearts Shoot-Style badass, master of Funk & long time NOAH stalwart. These dudes on this night just went out there in the middle of a Korakuen card & said, “you know what, let’s go hard tonight” & had one of the most unnecessary, absurdly great, hard-hitting, gruff, middle-aged man matches that you ever did see!

Just a true delight to watch. This really cemented my strong belief that every wrestlers true prime is in their late 40s/early 50s. Easily the best thing I watched this week! Can’t exclaim how much joy this gave me! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
