Hi friends! I'm back (amidst the crazy whirlwind of making ALL the things for my upcoming Scratch solo show) for the 70th edition of our little ol' 'Match of the Week' illustration series!

This absolutely superb display of Professional Wrestling brilliance took place on January 11th of this year, at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Battle in the Valley 2025 event at the San Jose Civic Centre.

So for those of you playing along at home & paying keen attention, you might have noticed that this took place just 1 day after last weeks' M.O.T.W. ALSO involving everyone's favourite ample-bosomed lucha wizard! I really think it's totally wild to see someone on the run that we're currently getting from one of my top-shelf favourites.

This match was just excellent from start to finish. A wonderful follow up to their previous classics & I must say, maybe the best in ring rivalry going today. Both guys have just gone from strength to strength. ZSJ of course is now our current IWGP 'World' Heavyweight Champion. It's so cool to see properly talented in-ring Professional Wrestlers getting their due.

This match rocks for all the reasons I loved their Arena Coliseo CMLL match. I'd say it clears the Rev Pro one pretty handily. The crowd combination here of American fans, Japanese fans & Latino fans really made for a cool atmosphere. Beautiful building too!

This type of reactive, hold-for-hold, Llaveo wrasslin' is just so my jam! There's none of the gaga & nonsense there to placate the folks who get bored of this stuff. Just incredible, bare-bones, wrestling between two of the best in the world that keeps going & escalating until someone gets caught.
