I’m back home & back with another extra fresh instalment of our ‘Match of the Week’ illustration series. This fantastically painful-looking affair took place just this past week on October 12th, at AEW’s Wrestle Dream 2024 event at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA.

So this was far & away my favourite match on what was overall a pretty darned good PPV. The physicality, the 'David vs Goliath' element, the pacing & some properly amazing chemistry. I think it really highlighted the absolute best of both of these GREAT current-day Pro Wrestlers.

This was just a gritty fight & EVERYTHING looked so very painful! From the very opening moment of Darby chopping Brody in the corner & Brody proceeding to throw him over the top rope, onto his neck on the ring apron, I knew this was going to be exactly as great as I was hoping for. The stuff with the steps! And man, such a perfect finish! I loved every bit of this!! Here’s hoping we get many more Darby vs Brody matches in the future! They always rock! This is the balls-to-the-wall, stupid-awesome #ProfessionalWrestling that I’m all about!!

Artists’ Note: Both of these dudes were WAY FUN to draw! So many interesting cool bits on both of em. This match also had some tremendous visuals, which made it tough to pick the ‘moment’. But I think I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
